Course Meeting Times:
Lectures: 2 sessions/ week, 1.5 hours/session

Goals
After this course you will be able to:
  • Explain the importance of pneumatic and Hydraulic in equipment.
  • Describe fundamental concepts of: “Pumps, Valves, Actuators, Accumulators and power packs.
  • Describe when pneumatic and hydraulic systems are used in equipments.
  • Illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Mention types of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Understand the function of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits from schematics.
  • Select an appropriate suitable hydraulic pump, valve, hydraulic motor, hose and Accumulator with suitable sizes.
  • Produce Innovative solutions for the practical industrial problems.
  • Analyze pneumatic and hydraulic circuits for different applications.
  • Diagnose the faults in pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
  • Design and Implement a pneumatic or hydraulic circuit.
  • Read any pneumatic or hydraulic circuit schematic Drawing.
  • Test practical pneumatic and hydraulic components and circuits.

Examinations:
The final exam is 3 hours long.

Sections:
The purpose of the recitations is to give students experience in the subject by working out examples and expanding on the material presented in the lectures. Attendance and participation in the recitations is obligatory.
