Course Meeting Times:
Lectures: 3 sessions/ 2 weeks, 1.5 hours/session

Goals
After this course you will be able to:
  • Explain different image filtering methods in both Spatial and Frequency Domains.
  • Explain Image morphological operations.
  • Give an example of different compression techniques.
  • Use different methods for digital image filtering.
  • Use different methods for morphological operations.
  • Evaluate different methods for image compression.
  • Select appropriate image filtering technique for certain applications.
  • Select appropriate morphological operations for certain application.
  • Present Systems based upon Image processing.

The final exam is 3 hours long.

Sections:
The purpose of the recitations is to give students experience in the subject by working out examples and expanding on the material presented in the lectures. Attendance and participation in the recitations is obligatory.

Grading:
  • 3-4 Assignments (using MATLAB): 15%
  • Sections attendance: 5%
  • Mid-term exam: 10%
  • Final exam: 70%
